Woman Commits Suicide Over An iPad In Ondo



A 41-year-old woman, Mrs Catherine Sefunmi Urouna, has allegedly committed suicide by drinking some poisonous substance in protest of her husband's refusal to buy her an iPad device.
Her family of five was on Saturday morning thrown into mourning, even as the neighbours were shocked that a woman, who was happily married with children, could take such a nasty decision to take her own life over an iPad.

According to LEADERSHIP finding, the 41-year-old woman and mother of three, two boys and a girl, was a senior account officer at the Akure North local government council of Ondo State.
She was said to have threatened to kill herself a fortnight ago if her husband failed to get her an iPad; even as the husband had pleaded with her to be patient and asked her to use the Blackberry phone he bought for her until he could afford to buy her an iPad.

The police in Ondo State, however, said they were investigating the incident to ascertain the actual cause of her death

Unbelievable! 40 year old woman is pregnant for her son and Set To Marry Own Him

Betty Mbereko (40), who was widowed 12 years ago, has been cohabiting with her first child, Farai Mbereko (23). She confirms that she is six months pregnant and that she has decided it is better to "marry" her son because she does not want to marry her late husband's young brothers, whom she says are coveting her.
Betty stunned a village court last week when she said the affair with her son had begun three years earlier. She said after spending a lot of money sending Farai to school following the death of her husband, she felt she had a right to his money and no other woman was entitled to it.
"Look, I strove alone to send my son to school and no one helped me. Now you see that my son is working and you accuse me of doing something wrong. "Let me enjoy the products of my sweat," she told the village court.

Farai said he was more than prepared to marry his mother and would pay off the ilobola balance his father had left unpaid to his grandparents. "I know my father died before he finished paying the bride price and I am prepared to pay it off," he said.

"It is better to publicise what is happening because people should know that I am the one who made my mother pregnant. Otherwise they will accuse her of promiscuity."

But local headman Nathan Muputirwa says: "We cannot allow this to happen in our village, mashura chaiwo aya, (This is a bad omen indeed).

In the past they would have to be killed but today we cannot do it because we are afraid of the police." He warned them to break off their marriage or leave his village.

They chose the latter and have left the village for an unknown destination

Woow! Day60 of ASUU STRIKE: Students Give FG, ASUU 7-day Ultimatum

             It's 2months today and Nigerian students are tired of sitting at home!!!
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), yesterday issued a one-week ultimatum to the Federal Government and the union's leadership to resolve their differences or face corrosive consequences.
The students have vowed that they would take their destinies in their own hands if the parties failed to reconcile within a week and that they will go on a nation-wide riot in what it described as 'operation occupy Nigeria'.

The students' body  appealed to ASUU to return to the classroom and continue negotiation with the Federal Government since the latter claimed to have released over N100 billion for infrastructural development and another N30 billion for allowances.
"We are appealing to ASUU that since  the Federal Government has been able to release N100 billion for infrastructural development and N30 billion for allowance, they should go back to classroom and continue their negotiation or agitation. This is our prayer and wish.
"We are giving them one week to open the schools or be ready to face corrosive consequences in form of nation-wide demonstration and riots. We are ready to mobilise for that and it will be operation occupy Nigeria," he said.
Lamenting the effect of the strike,  Obasi said students have become prone to accidents on the  highways and the female students have been reduced to s*x hawkers on the streets.
His words: "I stand to tell you that a lot of accidents have been recorded and 99.9% of the victims are Nigerian students. If they were in classrooms, they would not have fallen victims of road crashes.
"Our female students have become commercial s*x hawkers on the streets in order to make ends meet. This colossal effect is more than what ASUU is agitating for. Hence, we can no longer fold our arms and watch things go wrong."

Lagos Ranked 4th Worst City In The World

Economist Intelligence Unit, EIU, an independent forecasting and advisory business within the Economist Group has said Lagos is the fourth worst city in the world.
Up there on the top worst cities in the world with Lagos is Port Moresby, in Papua New Guinea on 38.9 per cent, which shares Lagos' 137 position.
Although the report made available yesterday described Lagos as the second-fastest growing city in Africa, it also regarded it as the fourth worst city on earth.



"Rapid growth is not always a good thing because Lagos is now a magnet for two perpetual threats to peace: pirates and Islamist warriors.
"Boko Haram have a problem with cities like Lagos and also lots of weaponry. Pirates threaten trade and use kidnapping as a method of funding. Islamist terrorist groups such as Boko Haram ("Education is forbidden") want to create their own version of heaven on earth by destroying cities such as Lagos and imposing strict sharia law. Lagos has enormous potential but as yet little to show for it – hence its poor ranking," the report said.
EIU in its 2013 annual survey of the world's 140 major metropolises, said Lagos has a long way to go politically, socially and economically before it joins the emerging market club.

Shocker! UNILAG Babe Kidnapped And Ra-ped By Three Friends (Must Read)

 Police Arraign Three For Kidnapping, Raping UNILAG Student, 22-year-old female student of the University of Lagos, Tolulope Titiloye, who was kidnapped and raped by three friends, who later posted her nude photos on the social media, is now in court to get justice.
Three friends - Bashorun Babajide, Aje Olumayowa, and Babajide Ajayi - had molested her, took photos of her without clothes and threatened to share the photos if she exposed them. Tolulope had kept quiet about the sad incident but trouble started when her family members saw her nude photos on the internet.

Within few days of the upload, the nude photographs went viral on social media, exposing Tolulope to ridicule and shame.

Consequently, the three bad guys were rounded up and arrested. They have been arraigned before the Tinubu Magistrate's Court, Lagos State, for kidnapping and raping.

According to police, after assaulting her, Babajide, Mayowa and Ajayi also attempted to murder Tolulope on the day of the incident in April, 2013.

Hence, they were arraigned for kidnap, rape, assault, battery, unlawful detention and attempted murder. When the charges were read to them, the three friends pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate S.K Matepo granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each and adjourned the case till October 2 for hearing.

Lola Alao's New Husband Is A Fraudster...Convicted In Kuwait for Credit Card Scam

A fortnight ago when star actress, Lola Alao, got married in far- flung Atlanta, United States of America, USA, to Adewale Yakubu Adewale Ajibola, the couple, literally, could not contain their excitement.
Lola was positively glowing in her creamy wedding dress while Yakubu sporting a bespoke grey suit, wore a disarming smile. 

Though not an opulent wedding, they exchanged marital vows, flaunted the marriage certificate and
the pictures  that went viral online generated mixed reactions.
There are fears too, solemn fears: Lola's new hubby is plagued with an ugly past - a credit card scam that kept him 'inside' in a Kuwaiti cell.

 According to an insider, this isn't the first time the 'Nigerian big boy' has been on the wrong side of the law.
His claim to relevance and easy bait for unsuspecting women who wanted love and affection, has been his American citizenship's status and his dashing looks, a reference to what in Yoruba parlance is called Faworaja, (meaning a person who lives off his looks).

When he was arrested in Kuwait for the credit card scam, Yakubu, was able to answer the police questions adroitly, but the authorities were not convinced of his claim that he was innocent. 
A ring of 'scammers' had some months before his arrival, operated in the same manner and went away with their loot in the Middle East commercial city.
Unsuspectingly, Yakubu walked into a booby trap. 

While Wale Yakubu Ajibola, the Nigerian-born American citizen served terms for one year,  the Big Sam turned the other cheek.

Lola, who is hell-bent on getting a husband, was not too lucky last year when her hatched plot to marry another Nigerian based in Europe was thwarted by her first husband, Dare Ogunlana,  who unleashed a media attack on her.  Meanwhile, Lola found a close ally in another actress, Bukky Wright, also married to a US-based Nigerian, Wale Onitilo. 
Lola and Bukky seem to be best friends in real life because their chemistry comes through effortlessly.

Since her marriage to US-based lover and car dealer, Dare Ogunlana, broke up, the Kogi-born actress has met a few men but she has not been quite lucky to have one of them put a ring on it.

Bukky, we reliably gathered has been concerned and busy setting Lola up on dates with non-famous friends and some buddies of her current hubby. She wanted Lola to have her kind of relationship that will guarantee American citizenship status.

When Yakubu walked in, it was a willing and desperate Lola he met and, trust her, she quickly hung on tight. Sources disclosed that while he was cooling his feet in the Kuwaiti authorities' cell, Lola scampered for his release by consulting marabouts widely.
They were constantly in touch on phone and gradually they  built the affection.

On release some months ago, after serving terms in Kuwait for one year, she sent him a ticket to come home, made few appearances at functions that were private  and  they bonded before he returned to the United States  to prepare for the August wedding. 

While Lola has taken the highroad by walking down the aisle with Yakubu,  brimming with broad smiles that  she has found love and a good match, observers of Nollywood  marriages and the rate at which it dissolves, feel Lola may have finally found a big catch to perfect her plans for an American citizenship status.

Yakubu, E24-7 MAGAZINE'S checks revealed, has never been married but he has three kids, including a set of twins  from two women among his strings of ladies.

 From his profile, though he claimed to be an ICT expert, he is not quite buoyant financially and his recent incarceration in Kuwait has not helped.

There is no record of an apartment in his name; the newly married couple are guests in one of the hubby's relations' house in Atlanta. 

Prior to his ill-fated venture in Kuwait, he is said to have been living off his relations in California before life threw terrible storms at him and he moved to Houston.
In his bid to survive, he crossed to Atlanta where he allegedly joined the credit scam racket popularly known as 'Track 1, Track 2'.

For Lola, it has been a tortuous and lonely journey with her 10-year- old daughter, Omowunmi from her first marriage with Dare.
As she stepped out from the depths of despair to happily ever after, it is not clear if Dare will not sue her for bigamy as their marriage consummated in Nigeria has not been officially dissolved.

(OGA-AT-THE-TOP) NSCDC Officials Rescues Baby Abandoned In A Graveyard.

A newborn baby, who was Dumped in a graveyard in Jigawa State, has been rescued by men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The baby, suspected to have been dumped in the cemetery by her mother, was rescued yesterday.

According to reports, the NSCDC Commandant in the state, Muhammad Gidado, stated that the baby was discovered at Shagari cemetery in Kazaure Local Government Area. Gidado added that the baby was discovered at about 2:27am by officers of the command while on patrol. He said the personnel were attracted to the scene by the cries of the baby.

The baby was packed in a carton, dressed in vest and covered with wrapper.The commandant stated that the abandoned baby had been taken to Kazaure General Hospital for medical attention.

Gidado said that no arrest had been made but that investigation had commenced into the case.

WONDERFUL!!! 14-Year-Old And 16-Year-Old Gives Birth To Triplets!!!!

A teenager has given birth to triplets in Bungoma County, Daily Nation has reported.

Fourteen-year-old Mwanaharabu Wamukoya of Harambee village in Kakamega County, Kenya was admitted to Bungoma District Hospital on Saturday evening and had a Caesarean Section on Sunday to deliver the three baby boys.

Two of the new-borns weighed 1.5 kilogrammes while the third one weighed 1.3 kilogrammes.

Nursing officer-in-charge Mary Marumbu said the babies and their mother were in stable condition and ready to be discharged.


The father of the babies, a 16-year-old boy, is said to have taken off on learning that the girl had given birth to triplets. The teen is also a school dropout and does menial jobs. The arrival of the triplets is said to have distressed him.
"He has no ability to take care of the babies even if he was here. We are grateful to the government for scrapping off maternity fees because I will be free to go home once discharged. I would have been detained here if I had been asked to pay," the teenage mother said.

ASUU Strike Update: Peaceful protest turns bloody in Delta State | (Photos)

Okay, so yesterday, a peaceful protest organized by Nigerian Students in Delta State over the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike apparently turned out to be bloody as police were alleged to have fired both tear gas and gunshots at students to prevent them from protesting.

Reports claim that many of the students were said to have received various degree of injuries.

Reports also claim that three of the students who were apparently critically injured as a result of the police action are admitted in different hospitals at Asaba, Delta State.

Could This Be Love? Two Kenyan Men Agree To Marry The Same Woman

Sylvester Mwendwa said he would pay the bride price
Two Kenyan men have signed an agreement to "marry" the same woman, reports say.


The woman had been having affairs with both men for more than four years and apparently refused to choose between them.
The agreement sets out a rota for Sylvester Mwendwa and Elijah Kimani to stay in her house and states they will both help raise any children she bears.
Lawyers said their "marriage" would be legally recognised if they could prove polyandry was part of their custom.
'Jealousy'
Mr Mwendwa and Mr Kimani drafted the agreement after realising they had both been having an affair with the woman in Mombasa County for more than four years, the local Daily Nation newspaper reports.
Community policing officer Adhalah Abdulrahman persuaded the two men to marry the woman after he saw them fighting over her, it reports.
"We have agreed that from today we will not threaten or have jealous feelings because of our wife, who says she's not ready to let go of any of us," the agreement says, Kenya's NTV station reports.


"Each one will respect the day set aside for him. We agree to love each other and live peacefully. No-one has forced us to make this agreement," it adds.
Mr Mwenda said her parents had given their blessing, while he is planning to pay the bride price.
The woman, a widow with two children, did not want to be named.
Kenyan family lawyer Judy Thongori told the Daily Nation that the law does not explicitly forbid polyandry – a woman having more than one husband.
"The laws we have do not talk about it but for such a union to be recognised in Kenya, it has to be either under the statutory law or as customary marriage. The question we should ask now is whether these people come from communities that have been practising polyandry," she is quoted as saying.
Polygamous marriages often take place in Kenya, but wife-sharing is unheard of, correspondents say.

21-YEAR-OLD GIRL COMMITS SUICIDE OVER MOTHER’S COMMENTS

A 21-year-old girl identified as Kemi, at the weekend, committed suicide in Isale Asa Ilorin, Kwara State.

The deceased, who was a fashion designer, allegedly took her own life with a locally-made rat poison known as sole lasan following uncomplimentary comments from her mother during a brawl.

A neighbour, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the girl and her mum had a quarrel on Friday night and in the course of the brawl, Mummy Kemi, as her mom is popularly called, referred to her daughter as "a complete failure and a disgrace to the family".

The neighbour said the deceased's mother, who operates a grinding machine nearby, went to her shop and Kemi, who was unhappy with her mother's comment, went into her room and drank the poison.

"When Mummy Kemi came in about 30 minutes later, she saw that Kemi was writhing in pains. She was said to have raised the alarm," the source said.

The source said sympathisers, who suspected Kemi might have taken a poisonous substance, quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital for medical attention but the doctors there referred them to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

She died on her way to the teaching hospital.

Olufemi Fabode, the State's Police Command's spokesperson, could not be reached for confirmation as his mobile phone was switched off.

US DOCTOR FINDS A WAY TO REVIVE DEAD PEOPLE, WELL AFTER THEY’VE PASSED ON

It is generally the case that once a person dies, there is only about a three-to-five minute window of potential resuscitation time before he or she becomes irreversibly dead, depending on the cause of death. But an American clinical care physician claims to have come up with a new way to revive corpses several hours after being dead, a process that with future advancements could eventually make it possible to revive the deceased up to 24 hours after death, he says.

Cardiac patients at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York are already a living testament to the success of Dr. Sam Parnia's unusual revival claims. According to the latest available statistics, nearly twice as many patients are resuscitated there every year compared to other U.S. hospitals — the average resuscitation rate at Stony Brook is an astounding 33 percent, which contrasts sharply with the 18 percent average elsewhere.

So how does it all work? Utilizing the latest available medical technologies, Dr. Parnia carefully cools down the bodies of qualifying "dead" patients and pumps up their tissues with oxygen. This process, he says, prevents them from truly "dying," as it basically just puts their lives on hold and gives physicians time to intercede and work their magic. The process is so effective, claims Dr. Parnia, that it could have revived the life of James Gandolfini, the former star of the popular television series, The Sopranos, who is believed to have died from a heart attack.

"I believe if he died here, he could still be alive," said Dr. Parnia recently to Germany's Der Spiegel magazine. "We'd cool him down, pump oxygen to the tissues … clinically dead, he could then be cared for by the cardiologist. He would make an angiogram, find the clot, take it out, put in a stent and we would restart the heart."

These may sound like wild claims, but Dr. Parnia is confident in the power of this breakthrough technology. He is so confident, in fact, that he even wrote a book called Erasing Death, which deals in depth with the subject of so-called modern resuscitation science and how it has the potential to literally change the course of history. If the 1,514 people who died after the Titanic sunk back in 1912 had died today, for instance, all of them could have been brought back to life using modern resuscitation techniques, claims Dr. Parnia, and the catastrophe could have been completely avoided.

"Death can no longer be considered an absolute moment but rather a process that can be reversed even many hours after it has taken place," wrote Dr. Parnia in a recent piece for The Huffington Post. "[I]t is only after a person actually dies that the cells in his body go through their own process of death, which can be manipulated through science."

Though it is not yet possible to bring a person back to life after he or she has been dead longer than about three hours, Dr. Parnia is convinced that advances in resuscitation technology over the next 20 years will make it possible for bodies that have been "dead" as long as 24 hours to be revived. As medical science continues to gain a better grasp on the process of death, it will only become increasingly possible to prevent it altogether.

"We may soon be rescuing people from death's clutches hours, or even longer, after they have actually died," says Dr. Parnia. "My basic message: The death we commonly perceive today in 2013 is a death that can be reversed."

A Chinese man is facing trial after claiming he could exorcise ghosts from inside a woman - using his penis.
Huang Jianjun had allegedly made his young victim pay to have sex with him to banish evil ghosts that he claimed can only be caught with his manhood.

According to Chinese newspaper the Southern Metropolis Daily, the alleged victim had contacted self-proclaimed 'ghostbuster' Huang Jianjun for help after she fell for her boss at work, and she needed help seducing her boss.
She met Jianjun at a hotel room and he ordered her to strip naked on the bed for an examination.

After the examination, he then explained to her that she has a "vagina full" of trouble-causing ghosts who are preventing her boss from falling in love with her.
And that the ghosts could only be caught with his penis. That she must have sex with him in order to be cured.
The alleged victim, a shop-worker, called the police who promptly arrested JianJun.

He reportedly told the authorities he had lost the ability to gain an erection due to diabetes.
JianJun is currently awaiting trial in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

Guys, Meet 14yrs old Ali Hussain, The Boy With The Body Of A 110-year-old Man

This 14-year-old boy has been left with the body of a 110-year-old in India because he has a rare disease which makes him age eight times faster than normal.
Ali Hussain has seen five of his siblings- two of his brothers and three of his sisters, die from the same condition called Progeria which is known to affect just 80 people worldwide.

Sufferers are not expected to live much beyond the age of 14. 
Life was made unbearable for him and his late siblings because of their disease, they were mocked in school and called names like 'big-eyed boy' and 'Patlu' meaning skinny.
Eventually they all stopped going to school.
But despite the grim prognosis Ali has refused to give up hope. Ali says:
'I very much want to live and I hope there is medicine for my condition out there. I'm not scared of death but my parents have suffered a lot. I'd love to live much longer for them. I don't want to burden them with any more pain.. 
We had each other (his siblings) but that was it. We had no life. When we did go to school we were pushed and shoved, called names, kids tried to harm us. We can't do much physically either; our lungs are so small we get breathless easily.  
I would love to be a normal person who can play, go to school, do some sports, take some risks. Sometimes I get depressed but most of the time I make the most of the life I have.'

 


Ali is now the family's only surviving Progeria sufferer.
His parents Nabi Hussain Khan, 50, and Razia, 46, are first cousins and were the product of an arranged marriage 32 years ago.

LEAKED PHOTOS: IPHONE 5S & IPHONE 5C PICTURES FLOOD THE WEB

An early abundance of leaks shows us what Apple has planned weeks before it's expected to officially release new iPhones.

The normal hype and buildup ahead of a new iPhone release, which is typically punctuated by a painfully slow trickle of leaks that accelerate as Apple's big media event nears, seems to be reaching a crescendo a little early this time around.

We're still two and a half weeks off from Apple's expected unveiling of an iPhone 5S and lower-cost iPhone 5C — Apple hasn't even confirmed the September 10 event — and yet I'm already gasping for air amid a deluge of leaked pictures of both devices.



Many of the images come courtesy of one man, the increasingly prolific Apple leaker, Sonny dickson. Based in Australia, it would seem that dickson has some very helpful contacts in Apple's Asian supply chain. We used to see what dickson got his hands on primarily through Twitter, but this year it's his Web site that has become the repository of iLeaks.

The above shot of the presumed champagne-colored iPhone 5S next to a light blue iPhone 5C comes from a single gallery posted Friday that gives us a good look at the new housing and a number of components. dickson's site also houses more photos, videos, and "hands-on" content with several other iPhone parts and rear casings in a rainbow of colors.

Of course, what we've yet to see is a fully operational new iPhone 5S or iPhone 5C running iOS 7, so perhaps there's still some more exciting last-minute leaks to look forward to. Or, I suppose we could just wait and see what Apple has to say on September 10.

ASUU Adamant, Disregards FG’s ‘No Work, No Pay’ Threat

The threat by the Government to implement its 'no-work, no-pay' policy has been described as an 'obsolete familiar threat' that will not stop the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).


ASUU in a press statement yesterday, titled, "ASUU: On Government's Threat of No-Work, No-Pay", signed by its chairman, University of Ibadan (UI) chapter, Dr Olusegun Ajiboye, said members of the union have resolved to pursue the strike to a logical conclusion.
The statement said ASUU members are using the action to defend the integrity of the university system in Nigeria and save it from universal mockery.
Dr Ajiboye said the minimum funding requirement for public universities this year is N500 billion and not N100 billion, as being bandied around by the Federal Government.
He warned that the union would resist anything short of N500 billion.
